Answer:
It is not only a saying, it is rather a confirmed quote that God has made man on his own image, but what he left in man is the phenomenon of being perfect. God has bestowed man with His own noble attributes of being “Rehman” (most merciful) and “Raheem” (most forgiving). Now it’s up to man to behave in such a pattern / manner. When God conferred the highest rank, respect and love to His Prophet Muhammad (SAW), He did not call him with the names of Abdul-Rehman or Abdul-Rauf; instead of these names He called him as Rauf and Rehman. There were fixed levels and timings for the application of the habits and names of God Almighty. Once there was a time when only God exists who then created the whole universe and Who finally did the making of terrestrial beings and its organization. Ultimately the attributes of God Almighty would be on the highest level when it would have passed through in different periods and divisions of time. On human level the example of being Rauf and Raheem is of Muhammad (SAW). And the level of kindness (raheemiat) is found nearly in all human beings. As God had said that He loves man more than the love of hundred mothers; it means if God’s love is equal to hundred mothers than there would be some status of mother too, whose love is like God. Our instincts have progressed in two billion years. Once we were like animals that did fighting and killing by getting motivated by its instincts. After being awarded by “wisdom” we were able to motivate our instincts. But what is happening now? When the world’s greatest so called civilized country is treating its prisoners inhumanly. The animal instinct of man has not still changed although he has got the noble attributes like God. Whatever progress man has achieved till present age is just on the behalf of those noble attributes which God had bestowed on us. Otherwise men like the so called civilized nation are still acting upon their animal instincts.
